Your pathway to disability inclusion starts here

We understand that progress looks different for everyone, and no clubs are the same. We’ve made the WIN Badge process as flexible as possible, so it works for large clubs, small community clubs, and everything in between.

The WIN Badge is Australia’s first disability inclusion accreditation for sports clubs — available at Bronze, Silver, or Gold levels.

Accessibility

Physical accessibility
  • Is there suitable ACROD parking available at the club?
  • Are all areas of the club accessible?
  • Is there a quiet space within the club environment?
  • Are toilets accessible and maintained?
  • Has the club advocated for further accessible improvements?
Digital accessibility
  • Does the club use simple and easy-to-understand communication on socials and the website?
  • Are the key club members introduced?
  • Does the club use imagery with diverse people?
  • Is information about accessibility shared?
  • Are social media graphics accessible?
  • Can people communicate with the club in the way that best suits them?
  • Does the website have an FAQ section or answer common questions?

Community partnership

Community partnership
  • Does the club actively work with their Local Government Authority?
  • Does the club actively work with their State Sporting Association?
  • Does the club have partnerships and connections with disability groups and organisations?

People

Committee
  • Does the committee include at least one person with lived experience of disability or someone with experience supporting people with disability?
  • Is there a designated person responsible for driving disability inclusion?
  • Are committee members trained in inclusive practices and disability awareness?
Coaches
  • Do coaches have training in disability inclusion or similar?
  • Do coaches create inclusive environments for all participants?
  • Do coaches adapt their sessions and methods to meet diverse needs?
  • Does the club have a person with disability coaching?
Volunteers
  • Are volunteers provided training and support around disability?
  • Do people with disability volunteer?
  • Do volunteers display a positive attitude?

Governance

Club fundamentals
  • Do the club’s vision, values, or strategic goals promote inclusion and are clearly displayed?
  • Are there formal policies and/or statements outlining the club’s commitment to disability inclusion?
Feedback and conflict
  • Does the club have a clear, accessible process for handling conflicts and complaints?
  • Are there regular feedback opportunities for members?

Participation

Participation
    • Are there a variety of playing options for people with disability?
    • Does the club offer financial assistance or fee reductions?
    • Are social opportunities inclusive for people with disability?
    • Are there trial opportunities or introduction programs?
    • Do club members contribute to a positive and inclusive culture?
    • Can people with disability progress within the pathways of the sport if they wish?
